Salam. I'm a Muslimah, raised Muslim all my life. Married to a wonderful man. Not seeking male friends or correspondence. Have two American convert parents who live in USA & an older brother, also Muslim all his life, who lives in the US. I am married & have one stepson & one daughter & one baby on the way to complete our family, insha Allah.

I grew up in rural South Dakota in a small town of only about 87 people. I was the only Muslim girl, but I had a fun, innocent childhood. Alhumdulillah. My mom oversaw where who we had as friends & also what we did. We got to be involved in a lot of things most kids don't experience, due to the fact that my mother took us to historical re-enactments. We didn't watch the events, we where IN the events. I have been involved in everything from the medieval period up through civil war period re-enactments. We even went once to a Sci-Fi convention with friends. Mind you, having a mother that is a costumer helps alot. So the pictures below illustrate the diversity. We also had a creative place to grow up. You have to understand, while the town is small it has a high percentage of artists. Some of them internationally recognized. We had two sound studios that regularly were recording music (both Native American musicians & jazz/Blues at one studio; and Country & Polka music at the other). We also had three pottery shops, and a variety of other artists in town. One neighbor owned a covered wagon & ox-cart that were used regularly in historical re-enactments & even in films. Due to this, the animals had to be used to unusual sounds, including sounds of excited children. So we regularly went on wagon rides around the area. I even ended up being in a movie as a little girl. Never saw the end result. I was only about 9 at the time, and I was supposed to run to the fort yelling that some soldiers were coming. I was so nervous, I kept tripping & falling; getting up & running some more, and tripping & falling. I did this all the way up to the stairs of the building. Tripping wasn't supposed to be part of it, but the director thought it was so perfect, he kept it in. LOL That was one of my "Cassy moments" now recorded for history buffs. LOL

Sim'an al-Ansiri (Radi Allah Anhu) reported: I asked Allah's Messenger (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) about virtue and vice. He (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) said: Virtue is a kind disposition and vice is what rankles in your heart and that you disapprove that people should come to know of it. [Sahih Muslim : Book 32 Kitab Al-Adab, Number 6196] Nawwis b. Sim'in (Radi Allah Anhu) reported: I stayed with Allah's Messenger (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) for one year. What obstructed me to migrate was (nothing) but (persistent) inquiries from him (about Islam). (It was a common observation) that when anyone of us migrated (to Medina) he ceased to ask (too many questions) from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). So I asked him about virtue and vice. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) said: Virtue is a kind disposition and vice is what rankles in your mind and that you disapprove of its being known to the people.
