I looked for a biography of Abu Zarr r.a. but could not find one. Could you recommend a specific work for me to read? Thanks.
Of course, in general laws made by man are evil and laws set by Allah s.w.t are good, but the socialist 'addition' to shariah (ie Islamic Socialism, as seen in Libya, etc.) is, as you said, a good way to look at and address the corruption and waywardness occassionally seen in the ummah and to correct it through legislation and to enforce that legislation, leading everyone to a more equitable nation/world.
Also, in nations under shariah, economic class is much less of an issue, as Muslim nations tend to have an institutionalized means of increasing the standard of living for those in pvoerty, and closing the gap between the rich and the poor (with the possible exception of Saudi Arabia...).
