About Me:
I'm a revert to Islam. I came to the deen after studying the subject a lot in college. I think Islam is a good answer to the problems of the modern era. I guess I'd be considered a general Sunni alhamdullah but I have no issue with Sufis or Shi'a, Christians or Jews. I have a wife and a young son.

Hobbies:
I'm here to learn more about the deen, network, and make some muslim friends.

Movies:
I don't watch much TV as I think its one of the great ills of western life. I like some movies but I'm definitely not a movie person.

Books:
The Qur'an of course. I also enjoy the various books from places like White thread press but I don't enjoy the Islamic books that are clearly wahhab. A sand county almanac, the lord of the rings, the dying earth, on the road, the heart of islam

Music:
in terms of Islamic stuff, I really like listening to lectures that I usually download. In terms of music (haram or not?) I really like hip hop and what some people call jam bands. I realized I don't think music is Haraam.
