Waleikum Assalam sister :), I am also a Nigerian living here in Ireland with my family.
You will never be asked to remove your hijab at the airport or anywhere else (college/shop etc), they respect your religious beliefs here so you will not have any problems regarding that. I have friends in my college and know many more people who wear the hijab and they have no problems from people regarding that.
I'm not sure what kind of A levels is required here but for the most part, international students first attend the foundation course http://www.difc.ie/ which can enable you get into a good college.
