Salam alaikum Brother, I see you are on Minnesota Muslim group. So are you in Minnesota? If so do you ever consider traveling to other regional masjids or Muslim communities to participate in programs/projects?
I ask because my brother is heading up a sadaqa project with the help of Islamic Relief's backing, to provide help to the Crow Creek Indians who used to live in the Winona region of MN prior to being deported to No-where-vill central South Dakota! So, as Muslims we are trying to reach out & helped the oppressed in our region & you can't get more oppressed than these people who were the orignal inhabitants of the land here that we all now call "Home"! So we are trying to find dedicated Muslims in the region willing to give up ONE weekend during Ramadan, to help the needy and at the same time SHOW thru action what it means to be "Muslim".
The event will take place the weekend of Sept 20th. So please consider joining us. Last year many Muslims said they would help, but only 10 showed up. But alhumdulillah, we put it on & the Crow Creek Sioux tribal members were so surprised that we treated them with dignity & respect.
This year they want the honor of having us stay until we break fast & allow them the honor of hosting the dinner. So its little steps of cultural respect, alhumdulillah.

I start with the name of Allah and I ask Allah to raise the rank of
the Prophet, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.
Allah tabaraka wa ta^ala said: Whoever opposes the messenger after
the guidance has been clearly shown to him, and follows other than
the way of the believers, We shall keep him in the path he has
chosen, and burn him in hell, and what an evil destination. [Al-
Qur'an 4:115]
Insha'allah we as muslims should take a minute and ponder on this
verse from Allah, Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Is there any other way to get
into Jannah other than the way of Muhammad, sallallahu ^alayhi wa
sallam? Why do we as people continue to follow man made religions
based on customs and based on our desires, when Allah already told
us what was the clear and straight way.
The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam said: O
mankind, I am leaving two things with you, if you cling to them you
will never go astray. The Book of Allaah and my way of life.(Sunnah)
[Al-Hãkim and Al-Baihaqi].
The messenger of Allaah, sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam left this way
very clear for us as he said: I am leaving you on a clear way, its
night is like its day and none turns away from it except that he
would be destroyed.
He told us that the way he left is very clear and then in the
following Ah-Hadeeth he explained for us what it is. He said: The
Jews were divided into seventy one groups and the Christians were
divided into seventy-two and my ummah will be divided into seventy
three and each of them will be in the fire except one. The
companions asked: "Who are they, O messenger of Allaah?" He,
sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam said: They are those who are on the
like of what I and my companions are on. And in another Hadeeth, he
said: The best people is my generation then those that follow them,
then those who follow them.
